Courses on Offer

Students at ICHS follow either a three or four A Level pathway. Currently we offer the following subjects for study at A Level:

*Please note that Further Math's is only available as part of a four A level pathway.

Pastoral and Academic  Support

You will be allocated a Sixth Form Tutor who will provide you with support and advice on a daily basis. Throughout the year student progress is tracked and monitored which allows us to provide timely support when it is needed. All students participate in our pastoral programme, Personal Development and Wellbeing lessons (incorporating PSHEE) and VESPA Review lessons which focus on the acquisition of effective study skills to enhance academic performance.

Higher Education, Future Pathways and Careers

Most of our students go on to university. We support students throughout the UCAS application process and have excellent links with universities. Some students decide that university is not for them and we provide advice and guidance about modern apprenticeships and moving directly into employment.

Independent Study Periods

Students have timetabled Independent Study periods during the school day. These periods provide the ideal opportunity for students to embed their learning by undertaking purposeful, independent, learning activities.  As a school, we ensure that students have the resources and environment they need to study independently.
