Pupil Premium at ICHS

Back

Equity, Excellence, Empowerment

Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to help close the attainment gap for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. At Ilford County High School, we are committed to using this funding to ensure that every student can thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally.

The funding is allocated based on the number of students who are currently eligible for Free School Meals or have been eligible in the past six years. At ICHS, we use this funding to deliver high-impact teaching, targeted academic support, and enrichment opportunities that reflect our school’s values of Integrity, Courtesy, Hard Work, and Success.

Our approach is inclusive and discreet. We ensure that students in receipt of Pupil Premium are never identified or stigmatised. Systems such as cashless catering and universal access to resources help maintain dignity and equality across our school community.

We are proud of the progress our students make and regularly review our strategy to ensure the funding is used effectively. You can read more about our current priorities and impact in our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement.
